Since 1997, Marks & Spencer has invested considerable funds in the development of Alone In London’s young people services, with a particular focus on enhancing their prospects of employability. In addition to such funding is the advice the company has to offer that comes from their expertise in providing young people, who are unemployed, with work experience. “Alone In London’s attention to the needs of each individual
young person so that he or she has a chance to achieve his or her potential
is what commands our respect and support. For as long as we have supported
this charity – seven years now, we have been most impressed by
integrated approach this charity adopts in restoring stability in the
lives of vulnerable young people.” |

One of the UK’s largest general book publishers “Most of the staff here are quite young and are aware that homelessness
is one of the most pressing social problems in the capital. The proximity
of Alone In London gives us a greater sense of actually contributing
something tangible to the local community. And this we have enjoyed
doing through a host of events – book sales, quiz nights and participating
in the Marathon.” |

“Alone In London is to
be applauded for it’s unique approach to working with vulnerable
young people. Having recently participated in one of the Prevention
of Homelessness lessons, at a school in Islington, it was clear from
the pupils’ animated response that this progressive project is
crucial to addressing the issues that lead to homelessness. Streetsmart
is, therefore, delighted to have provided funding towards this Prevention
of Homelessness In Schools Project.” |
